She has also been recognized by Cambridge Who’s Who® Publishing as Professional of the Year in 2010 and a VIP Member in 2008. She considers her ability to play a role in the scholastic growth of her students to be especially rewarding and enjoys seeing former students return to their alma mater as teachers, principals or educational leaders. Dr. Zahn credits the success she has enjoyed in her field to her love for education, dedication and the unconditional support of her husband.

Dr. Zahn earned her Ph.D. in school administration from the University of Denver in 1989. She holds a master of arts in curriculum from the University of Colorado at Boulder, earned in 1973, and a bachelor of science in elementary education from Kansas State University, where she graduated magna cum laude in 1966. Dr. Zahn is the former president of the Retired School Employees Association and Phi Delta Kappa. Her current professional affiliations include the Colorado Association of School Executives, the Colorado Retired School Employees Association, the League of Women Voters and the Retired School Employees Association. Away from work, Dr. Zahn enjoys watching sports and spending time with her three children, eight loving grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
