MELROSE PARK, PA, August 26, 2011, Barbara McCreery, Principal of The School District of Philadelphia, has been recognized by Elite American Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in school administration.Before establishing herself as the principal of The School District of Philadelphia, Mrs. McCreery was a teacher. Ambitious to achieve this goal from a young age, she continues to display hard work and dedication, as education is her passion. Likewise, she puts her best efforts in at all times of the work day. She is responsible for coordinating budgets and the use of technology, observing and evaluating teachers, developing curricula, ensuring discipline, consulting with parents, and overseeing the district’s discipline, career and technology committees. Mrs. McCreery states that she is excited to look ahead in her career toward a position as a consultant for the national curriculum.
Mrs. McCreery was named Best Teacher of the Year, and received various recognitions from The School District of Philadelphia, where she has taught for eight years. She was also selected for inclusion in Who’s Who Among Teachers. Currently, she is pursuing an Ed.D. at Nova Southeastern University; she is already very educated, holding a master’s degree in secondary education from Villanova University, a master’s degree in special education from The Pennsylvania State University, a Master of Educational Technology from Philadelphia University, and a bachelor’s degree in history from Chestnut Hill College.
