APPLE VALLEY, CA, March 11, 2013, Carl Marko, Former Teacher, has been recognized by Elite American Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in English instruction.

Over the course of an illustrious career, Mr. Marko has garnered a reputation of distinction for his exceptional efforts put forth as an educator. Prior to his retirement, he made the most of his expertise in English instruction and poetry, earning a number of accolades, including the “Most Inspirational Teacher Award” as granted by Washington Junior High School in Long Beach. He is also a three-time recipient of Editor’s Choice Awards for Poetry, a published poet in the International Library, and an inductee into Who’s Who in Poetry. He was awarded a resolution by the California State Senate, which was given by Robert G. Beverly and Ralph C. Dills, who commended him on his years of dedication.

Mr. Marko was simultaneously eligible to participate in the U.S. Chess Championships upon winning the Los Angeles County Junior Chess Championship at the age of 19. Although he lost his game to an opponent who declared 49 wins and two draws, it was a great privilege for him to play against a Grand Master. Upon reflecting on a rewarding career, Mr. Marko attributes his success to being motivated by a paralyzed boy in his brother’s class at UCLA who successfully graduated with a degree. He became involved in his profession due to his brother’s enthusiasm for teaching, so he decided to follow in his footsteps.
