With nearly a quarter of a century of experience in audio-visual work and art instruction, Ms. Harris enjoys having a positive impact on her students at Kankakee Junior High School. She attributes her success in education to the support she receives from her parents and the knowledge she has earned through her own education. As a junior high school art instructor, Ms. Harris is rewarded when she watches her students succeed and graduate high school and college.

With a strong passion for teaching since childhood, Ms. Harris earned a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Olivet Nazarene University in 2005. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in art education from Illinois State University in 1988 and an associate degree from Lincoln University in 1986. Ms. Harris is a certified mentor and a member of the Illinois Education Association and the National Education Association. In her spare time, Ms. Harris enjoys playing soccer, baseball, and coaching softball, she also volunteers at her local hospice center, with the Boy Scouts of America, and the Girl Scouts of the United States of America.
