With 41 years in school district superintendent positions in South Dakota, Minnesota, Wyoming, Missouri and Ohio, Dr. Peterson attributes his success to his perseverance and commitment to the success of others, as well as the support and leadership of many outstanding leaders and school board members. Utilizing his expert leadership and communication skills, he oversees Minnetonka School District’s programs, encompassing education, safety and budgets. Dr. Peterson has also been very active in developing and having legislation pass relative to school finance. He created the entire finance system for South Dakota in 1986, and designed finance law in Ohio, Missouri, Wyoming, Minnesota and South Dakota.

Holding a Ph.D. from University of Colorado, Dr. Peterson also attended Stanford University. He has been honored with numerous awards for superintendent of the year, and was listed among the top 100 administrators in the United States by the National School Boards Association.
