Dr. Gay Stebbins Pepper is the founder and director of College and More, Inc., a professional educational consultancy specializing in education consulting for colleges, graduate schools, professional programs and boarding schools, as well as ability testing services. With a pronounced background in college counseling and administrations, Dr. Pepper makes the most of her expertise by working with families who request guidance to help their children choose boarding schools, colleges, professional programs, or graduate programs. She also offers a lecture series on competitive college admissions through Westchester and Fairfield counties. Dr. Pepper is passionate about her work and what it can do to change or transform the lives of students as they move through the college process. Getting the best or most current information on colleges and universities takes years of work, countless hours of research, and many campus visits to meet with admissions deans and talk to students. She has been putting those hours into her work for more than three decades and continues to do so. As a result, understanding the dynamics of individual colleges is one of her strengths. She feels that understanding how admissions decisions are made, particularly at the more selective colleges and universities, is another strength that distinguishes her work. It draws on the years she spent as the Associate Dean of Admissions at the University of Pennsylvania and the many years she has been active in The College Board and the National Association of College Admissions Counselors. Dr. Pepper pinpoints her third strength as her own educational experience; achieving a BA with distinction from Stanford University; a MA from Washington University in St. Louis; and a doctorate from Columbia University. A fourth strength, and possibly one of the most important, is her empathy for students and her passion for helping them move through the college admissions process with confidence and success.
