Institute for Graduate Studies (IGS), LLC, a nonprofit educational institution, was founded by Dr. Edward Pino in 1971. As President of IGS, LLC, Dr. Pino oversees all administrative duties and believes that the students of today are in an educational crisis due to a lack of quality graduate education. With over 61 years of experience in education, Dr. Pino served as an elementary, junior high school, community college, and university level teacher and administrator. He has also served as a principal and superintendent of schools for 20 years. As superintendent for Cherry Creek School District in metropolitan Denver, Dr. Pino’s pioneering efforts earned the district National Awards for Creative and Innovative Efforts from the Metropolitan State College of Denver 12 times.
Dr. Pino received a Ph.D. from American University and a doctorate in education from Stanford University and Harvard University. In 1995, he completed postdoctoral studies and lectured in comparative studies at the University of Oxford, England. He is the recipient of the American Association of School Administrators’ Distinguished Professor Award and has been inducted as a Scholar in The Oxford Society of Scholars. He has a deep passion for education and enjoys watching adults and children enjoy learning.
A distinguished author, Dr. Pino has written 43 books and booklets, including “Reaching the Reluctant Reader,” as well as audio and video training programs. He is also the author of “A Micro-Based Instructional and Management System,” “Basic Skills for Quality Teaching,” and “Remaking Our Schools.” A dedicated educator, Dr. Pino attributes his success to his “Never give up” attitude, and offers this advice to his students and others.
