With nearly 50 years of experience, E. Maxine Bruhns currently serves the University of Pittsburgh as the Director of its Nationality Rooms and Intercultural Exchange Programs. In this esteemed position, she expertly manages 27 nationality rooms, while also overseeing the construction and coordination of new rooms. Additionally, she works with 36 ethnic groups, and issues study abroad scholarships to students at the university. The recipient of a World Affairs Council Award, Ms. Bruhns earned an honorary doctorate in human letters from West Virginia Wesleyan College, a master’s degree from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon, and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Ohio State University. She was also recognized for her professional excellence when she became an honorary member of the Slovak Association and Lebanese Congress.
