Klamath Falls, OR, February 25, 2011, Gloria Mae Perkins, retired Music Specialist for Klamath County School District, has been recognized by Elite American Educators for dedication, achievements and leadership in music education. Ms. Perkins enjoyed a successful 30-year career as a music specialist before retiring. Utilizing her expertise in piano instruction and vocal training, she taught music to kindergarten through high school students in the Klamath Falls County School District. Inspired by her father, she earned a Bachelor of Science in education, majoring in music, from Southern Oregon University. She continued her education further at the University of Oregon, where she graduated with a Master of Science in music education. Previously active within her professional community, she is a former member of both the Oregon Education Association and the National Education Association. With an ongoing dedication and love for education, she spends her retirement as a Sunday school teacher at Shasta Way Christian Church.
