MITCHELL, SD, May 10, 2013, Gretchen G. Rich, Assistant Professor of English at Dakota Wesleyan University, has been recognized by Elite American Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in higher education.
Over the course of an illustrious career, Ms. Rich has garnered a reputation of distinction for her strengths in foundational English, composition, English history, grammar and structure principles. In her current role, Ms. Rich is in charge of writing grants for students with disabilities, overseeing assessment plans, consulting, and assisting students with their dissertations. She also lectures and organizes seminars in efforts to help students to achieve their academic goals.
Through the years, Ms. Rich has accomplished many of her own personal and professional goals, and upon reflecting on a successful career, she has come to pinpoint the most gratifying aspect of her career as seeing her students succeed. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Theater Arts from Yankton College, and a Master’s Degree in American Literature from The University of South Dakota. She has remained abreast of trends and developments in her field as a member of Toastmasters International, Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, the National Council of Teachers of English, and the College English Association. She also enjoys reading the Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy, and other industry-related publications.
