El Paso, Texas | November 24, 2010 | Jody L. Kotys, M.Ed., MS, Assistant Principal at El Dorado High School, has been recognized by Elite American Educators for her dedication, achievements and leadership in educational administration.
With over three decades of experience in education, Ms. Kotys followed her family’s footsteps by venturing into education. As the assistant principal, Ms. Kotys oversees attendance of faculty and students, truancy and behavioral issues with students, organizes parent and teacher meetings, and oversees the supply of text books to students. With her vast experience, Ms. Kotys is in charge of supervising the fine arts, technology, special education, and gifted and talented education departments. Promoted to assistant principal nearly five years ago, Ms. Kotys attributes her immense success to her desire to serve people and students.
A graduate of Sul Ross State University, Ms. Kotys earned a Master of Education in educational administration in 2003. She also holds a master’s degree in computer applications from Nova Southeastern University, earned in 1994. She holds an international baccalaureate certification and has been nominated for Assistant Principal of the Year by the Texas Association of Secondary Principals Region 19 in 2009 and 2010. She was honored with the Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Program and volunteers her time and service to the Special Olympics and the Lions Clubs International.
