For nearly three decades, Ms. Kinard-Wright has lent her skills in special education to the New York City Department of Education. She primarily focuses on training, teaching and developing social skills for emotionally and developmentally challenged prekindergarten through second-grade students in a self-contained classroom. Outside of the classroom, she holds administrative duties as well, including coordinating literacy programs, training teachers and developing a mathematics curriculum for special students up to the 12th grade.

In 1993, Ms. Kinard-Wright earned a master’s degree in administration and supervision from Brooklyn College. Prior to this, she completed a master’s degree in special education and a Bachelor of Science in education from The City College of New York. Additionally, she holds an advanced certification in administration.
