Judith D. Nossaman enjoyed a fruitful 38-year career dedicated to making a difference in young people’s lives. She retired in 2009 from George Mason University, a revered authority on creative teaching. As a university facilitator and teacher, Ms. Nossaman mentored future educators, encouraging them to be creative and imparting her knowledge of differentiated teaching methods for oral, visual and tactile learners. A certified gifted and talented teacher, she earned a Master of Research in Education in 1995 from Mason and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 1964 from Illinois State University. She is also certified in prekindergarten education for students aged 2 to 12. Named an Outstanding Teacher for Gifted Education and honored with an Agnes Meyer Outstanding Teacher Award, Ms. Nossaman attributes her success and longevity to an overriding desire to give of herself.
