Cleveland, Ohio, December 13, 2010, Katherine Modic, Theology Teacher at Cleveland Central Catholic High School, has been recognized by Elite American Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in theology.
For the last 33 years, Ms. Modic has excelled in providing theological, musical and spiritual education to students at the secondary level. Her passion for her profession is the impetus behind the longevity of her career and the accomplishments she attained through her faith. A certified theology educator, Ms. Modic is responsible for teaching ninth- through 12th-grade students the subjects of theology, morality, Christian lifestyle and church history. By guiding her students to make sharp decisions, she has made a difference in their lives – a feat that Ms. Modic considers the most gratifying aspect of her career.
Ms. Modic holds a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Cleveland State University, which she earned in 1978. An expert in religious studies and music instruction, she is very involved with the Catholic Church and often participates in their voluntary initiatives.
If Ms. Modic could make one profound change across the country, she would undoubtedly lower the high school drop-out rate. She has committed the entirety of her professional career to nurturing intelligent minds, and is a true advocate of the benefits of completing an education. Ms. Modic credits the interactions she has with her students to be her favorite part of her profession, thus she prays for guidance – for herself, and for them.
In her spare time, Ms. Modic enjoys singing in the Church choir, knitting and solving Sudoku and jigsaw puzzles. As she embarks on the next chapter of her career, she intends to grow professionally and employ her love for religious studies to continue teaching high-school students.
