With 30 years of experience in education, Dr. Tripp has spent the last eight years as an associate professor of elementary education at Auburn University. Aside from developing motivated pre-service science teachers, she focuses her own research on the effects of hands-on workshops in pre-service training regarding teacher preparedness, subject matter and new teaching strategies. Additionally, she is interested in the attitudes of rural African-American students’ attitudes toward the pre-service teachers and vice versa. She is highly regarded in the research community through her contributions to the National Association for Research in Science Teaching, the American Educational Research Association and The Research Association of Minority Professors.
