Marcia R. Downing is a Training Rep 3 with the Training Services division of Northrop Grumman, the nation’s sole designer, builder and refueler of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers. With a refined background in the development of curriculum for training, Ms. Downing currently designs and delivers programs to train all levels of personnel, and develops tests and visual aids in order to support the initiatives of the organization. She keeps abreast of training and development research, which encompasses learning theory, motivation theory and new materials, methods and techniques. Ms. Downing also develops in-house programs and practices to identify developmental needs, prepares personnel for more responsible positions, and increases effectiveness in present assignments. In addition, Ms. Downing reviews documentation, course material and software changes, and updates training materials to reflect changes. She also develops CBTs, web-based training, and PowerPoint training modules and design graphics for CBTs, WBTs, PowerPoint training modules, and paper-based manuals.
