For more than four decades, Ms. Martijevic has dedicated herself to continually improving curricula and classroom instruction. She has taught in nearly every setting possible, including public and private schools as well as college, over the course of her extensive career. In her current position as the assistant principal of Mount Carmel High School, she draws on her experience to identify professional development opportunities for teachers through observations and evaluations. Additionally, she teaches a 12th-grade advanced placement European history course.

Ms. Martijevic has completed all but a dissertation for a Ph.D. in curriculum instruction at the University of Illinois, Chicago. She also holds a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in history, both from Chicago State University.
