Company: Two Dot Reading Clinic
Location: Two Dot, MT
Two Dot, MT, April 15, 2011, Melody White, Owner of Two Dot Reading Clinic, has been recognized by Elite American Educators for dedication, achievements and leadership in reading education.
Inspired by her grandmother, Ms. White overcame her learning difficulties as a child and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Education from Montana State University Billings. While attending school, she came to realize that universities were not properly grooming future teachers. Teachers were no longer developing the skills and techniques to communicate to students, parents and the overall community. She knew how to mitigate these shortfalls because of her experience as a struggling student, so she opened her own reading clinic.
Ms. White has owned and operated the Two Dot Reading Clinic for the past 35 years. There, she primarily teaches students who have reading and writing learning disorders. The clinic is also host to many workshops that she organizes for instructing new teaching strategies to reading teachers. In addition, she provides consultation services to teachers who require intervention techniques for students with learning issues. Having completed a master’s degree in reading, her knowledge and expertise in miscue and content area analysis is highly valued by teachers in the surrounding areas.
When not at her clinic, Ms. White enjoys spending her time working on her ranch, McFarland White Ranch. She oversees the ranch operations and building maintenance for 13 buildings with a total of 100 guest rooms and facilities. She also enjoys racing motorcycles and sprint cars in her leisure time. A supporter of 4-H, Ms. White lends her expertise in ranch management as a judge for the National Future Farmers of America Organization.
