Miriam Dixon is a Braille teacher for the North Carolina Rehabilitation Center for the Blind, located in Raleigh, North Carolina. Motivated by her own visual impairment, she is responsible for developing individual lesson plans for four to six students to illustrate that they have the capacity to read, and to teach them how to get there. Ms. Dixon holds a Master of Education in Special Education, with a concentration in visual impairment, which she earned from North Carolina State University in 1984, after having already received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
