Madison, FL, March 11, 2011, Rhonda Aikens Moore, Teacher at Madison County High School, has been recognized by Elite American Educators for dedication, achievements and leadership in education.
For the past 35 years, Mrs. Aikens Moore has lent her expertise in education to Madison County High School. She attributes her long and successful career to her faith in God and love for working with young people. She teaches ninth-, 11th- and 12th-grade literature to her students. Additionally, she helps them hone their writing, reading comprehension, listening and observation skills in order to achieve continued success throughout their lives. Her dedication and concern for her students’ education has earned her teacher of the month and teacher of the year awards, as well as recognition by Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.
In 1985, Mrs. Aikens Moore earned a Master of Science in English from Nova Southeastern University. Prior to this, she graduated from Florida State University and North Florida Community College with a Bachelor of Science in library science and an Associate of Arts in general studies, respectively. She holds memberships to the Florida Council of Teachers of English, the National Council of Teachers of English and the International Reading Association in order to stay abreast of changes within the field of education. She is also a member of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. A mentor for Take Stock in Children, Mrs. Aikens Moore is a supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Souper Bowl of Caring and the American Red Cross.
