A 42-year veteran of the academe, Dr. B. Robert Carlson recently celebrated his first decade as dean of CSUSB’s College of Natural Sciences. In this capacity, he utilizes his administrative and leadership skills to oversee the biology, chemistry, health science, nursing, engineering, mathematics and computer science departments. Dr. Carlson earned a Ph.D. in physical education in 1968 and a Master of Education in physical education in 1967, both from The University of Texas at Austin, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1964 from Trinity University. Over the course of his long and distinguished career, he has been recognized with a Presidential Citation by the California Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance, with an Outstanding Originators in Distributed Learning Award by CSUSB, and with honorary membership into the Golden Key International Honour Society, to name only a few of the honors he has received.
