Dr. Robert L. Mees is President Emeritus at John A. Logan College. Specializing in program development, and in regional, community and international education partnerships, Dr. Mees makes the most of his talents in his current capacity by collaborating with educational and government leaders in the People’s Republic of China, lecturing, and creating a new developmental education office. He is also responsible for increasing the full-time faculty by 40 percent. With a wealth of knowledge and experience, Dr. Mees has garnered a reputation of distinction over the years for his expertise in economic development, P-20 initiatives, civic engagement, lifelong learning and volunteerism for older adults. He shines as a luminary in his field, having recently earned the Frank R. Samuel Jr. Community Service Award through the Carterville Chamber of Commerce, the Trustee Education Award from the Illinois Community College Trustees Association, and induction into the Educational Council of 100. Upon reflecting on an illustrious career, Dr. Mees attributes his success to his strong people management skills.
