After serving for two decades in the United States Army as a Colonel, Dr. Wilson realized the correlation between military training and teaching higher education. Utilizing the same discipline and determination that he refined in the Army, he became an impassioned professor at Georgia State University. In the unique field of decision sciences, Dr. Wilson taught his students to use mathematic models to promote making business decisions. Throughout his seven-year tenure with the university, he met with success on numerous occasions by employing the mantra, “keep your nose to the grindstone.”

Named Professional of the Year in higher education by Cambridge Who’s Who, Dr. Wilson attributes his accomplishments to the motivation he received from his mother, Olive. She taught him to never give up in the face of the challenges with which life presents. He earned a Doctor of Business Administration from Georgia State University in 1971, which he cites as one of his greatest professional achievements. Further, Dr. Wilson maintains affiliation with the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.

Dr. Wilson spends his retirement volunteering for Operation Shoebox, an organization dedicated to supplying food and personal care items to soldiers deployed outside of the United States.
