An expert in chemistry instruction and editorial authorship, Dr. Shah lends his 40 years of experience to his chemistry students at Towson University. Aside from teaching his students, Dr. Shah also writes editorials for professional journals and has been published in various newspapers and publications. His problem solving skills and caring nature help students advance in the real world and find success, and he is proud to be able to teach students and adults in all capacities. As an educator, the greatest reward Dr. Shah receives is watching them succeed. He understands the concepts and breaks them down for his students. He enjoys experimenting with his classes and often works one on one with his students.

Dr. Shah was an organizer of the Science Education Symposium in Maryland from 1996 to 2003. He has delivered presentations at Lilly Conferences on the East Coast and he worked on water and waste water treatment plans from 1982-1989. He is certified in Business Management by the University of Virginia and has written several articles for newspapers on the eastern shore of Maryland.

An alumnus of Xavier University, Dr. Shah graduated in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and physics. He later went on to earn a Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph. D.) in chemistry from the University of Delaware in 1968. From 2003-2004, Dr. Shah was the Chairman of Government Relations for the Chesapeake Section of Industrial Hygiene. He has also held many positions as chairman or board member throughout his career for various associations, including the Maryland Chapter of American Chemistry Society, the National Association of Industrial Technology, the Maryland Association of Community and Junior Colleges, and the American Lung Association of Maryland. A devoted educator, Dr. Shah has received many awards and honors for his work, including two-time recipient of the Patriot of the Year from Help Hospitalized Veterans (2009 and 2010).
