Sylvia E. Lufriu is a retired Career Assessment Specialist for the Guidance Department of Hillsborough County Public Schools. Prior to her retirement, Ms. Lufriu was responsible for ensuring the stability of the guidance department by conducting research, consulting, and advising career assistants on how to discuss career options with students. She also assisted high school students in preparing for the interview process, delivered presentations, and utilized different assessments to measure students’ performance and ability.

Ms. Lufriu has amassed more than 34 years of professional experience, and she continues to make every effort to grow professionally, and make valuable contributions to her field. Inspired by a combination of an innate love for the field of education and a drive to set and accomplish her own life goals, Ms. Lufriu pursued a career in education support services and achieved her main objective, which was to help people to achieve their academic goals. She feels that her greatest career achievement thus far has been establishing a career center.

With a wealth of knowledge and experience, Ms. Lufriu continues to strive for excellence in her every endeavor. Her abundance of sophisticated skills in educational support services allow her to assist young people in recognizing their dreams, and making them their reality. Ms. Lufriu has taught at the high school level, served as a career assessment specialist, and also taken numerous culinary classes. She takes pleasure in cooking and baking in her spare time.
