Ms. Tucker-Goetz ventured into special education upon the suggestion of a friend at The University of Kansas. More than three decades later, she is still an active member of the profession, lending her talents to Colorado Springs School District 11. In the complementary capacities of special education staffing coordinator and special education teacher, Ms. Tucker-Goetz is responsible for teaching mathematics and language arts to sixth and eighth graders with special needs, as well as coordinating with staff members and scheduling meetings.
An alumna of KU, Ms. Tucker-Goetz earned a master’s degree in elementary education in 1977. She also holds a Bachelor of Science. She is a staunch supporter of the Special Olympics.
