Tracy Glenn Murray is a retired Director of Choral Activities at South Plainfield High School. With a refined background in music education, Mr. Murray conducted voice classes for ninth- through 11th-grade students, taught music and oversaw student performances prior to his retirement from the high school. He has nurtured an ever-growing skill set throughout the course of his career, and he continues to strive for excellence in his every endeavor. Mr. Murray was recently a guest conductor on two occasions at the New Jersey All-State Opera Festival.
Mr. Murray is currently a member of NJMEEA, and a former member of the American Choral Directors Association. Inspired by his own high school choir director, he followed a career path that would enable him to ultimately encourage others who enjoy music, and foster in them a love for learning and music education. In reflecting on an illustrious 27-year career, he pinpoints a major career highlight as his direction of the high school spring musical, “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,” in April 2007.
