Las Cruces, NM, April 29, 2014, Carmen Cleofila Boje, College Associate Professor at New Mexico State University, has been recognized by Elite American Educators for dedication, achievements and leadership in higher education.
With a passion for applied mathematics, Ms. Boje established a career in engineering. She started as a project electronic engineer and, after gaining extensive experience in the trade, made the decision to teach the field in the hopes of inspiring more women to enter into the field of engineering. Ms. Boje joined the university’s ranks in 2007 and currently serves as a professor in the Department of Engineering Technology & Surveying Engineering. An expert in electronic engineering, telecommunication, industrial engineering and electronic health records software improvement, she is responsible for teaching 14 courses to engineering students.
Ms. Boje has been recognized for her talents, and received an award for excellence in teaching. She attributes her success to her perseverance and love of teaching. Looking toward the future, Ms. Boje intends to help improve Electronic Health Records software. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in industrial engineering, and holds a master’s degree in engineering.
