After transitioning out of her previous career, Dr. Barnett-Thompson earned a degree in education and began working in the education field as a community college teacher. She steadily progressed throughout the field and joined Ashford University nine years ago. An expert at developing relationships and interacting with students, Dr. Barnett-Thompson is responsible for answering student questions, hosting discussions regarding philosophy and English, and grading papers.

Dr. Barnett-Thompson has become a highly regarded member of the university’s faculty. She takes great pride in her work and enjoys being able to help students grow and learn. She earned a Ph.D. in English education at Corllins University, a master’s degree in secondary education at Arizona State University, and a bachelor’s degree in education at St. Catherine’s University.
