Lori Maxfield, Ph.D. is the Scholar in Residence at Carlow University. Dr. Maxfield has 30 years of professional experience and has been in her current role for the past three. She has become an invaluable asset to the university, as she is an expert in curriculum and instruction, teacher education, gifted education, and STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). Aside from her responsibilities at Carlow University, Dr. Maxfield also works as the Learning Engineer consultant with Engineer’s Playground in Minneapolis, MN. Dr. Maxfield earned a Ph.D. in educational psychology at the University of Connecticut, Master of Education in curriculum and instruction at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Bachelor of Science in elementary education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She keeps abreast of changes in her field through her affiliation with the National Association of Gifted Children, Association of American Colleges and Universities, National Science Teachers Association, American Society of Engineering Educators, and International Technology and Engineering Educators Association.
