Ms. Semke-Fox dedicated more than 50 years to the education field. Although retired, she continues to serve as a substitute. She finds she really enjoys subbing because it gives her an opportunity to get to know the students while eliminating the pressures felt as a full-time teacher.

Throughout her illustrious career, Ms. Semke-Fox taught primary and secondary education, and was featured in Who’s Who Among American Teachers at international education conference. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education at the University of Washington, and stays active in the education field through her affiliation with the Washington Education Association, National Middle School Association, National Education Association, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and International Reading Association.
