Edinburg, TX, June 18, 2014, Dr. Glen D. Moyes, DBA, Professor of Accounting at The University of Texas-Pan American, has been recognized by Elite American Educators for dedication, achievements and leadership in higher education.

Dr. Moyes is a tenured professor at the University of Texas-Pan American. As a faculty member, he has taught accounting courses for 32 years at the university level. He has served as an accounting lecturer, assistant professor, visiting professor, associate professor and tenured professor. He joined The University of Texas-Pan American 13 years ago. An expert in financial and managerial accounting, he is tasked with teaching internal and external auditing, accounting theory, and advanced, financial, managerial and cost accounting.

Throughout the course of his career, Dr. Moyes has earned eight research grants totaling nearly $30,000. His areas of research include auditing, auditing techniques, fraud detection, red flags, auditor impaired independence, substandard audit performance, earnings estimate revisions, ethics, gender and racial issues, and job satisfaction. He is currently researching on internal auditors’ perceptions concerning the fraud-detecting effectiveness of 218 auditing techniques in four major audit cycles. Aside from teaching and researching, Dr. Moyes shares his knowledge through publishing his work. He is the author of 46 articles that have been published in referred academic and practitioner journals. He also wrote one chapter in a practitioner manual. Moreover, Dr. Moyes has more than 260 citations according to Google Scholar, and he has presented papers at 35 international, national and regional conferences. Dr. Moyes also has experience as a journal article reviewer, conference reviewer and moderator. Dr. Moyes believes he has been able to excel in all of his professional endeavors because he has a project-oriented nature and received a lot of support from his parents.
