Yonkers, NY, After 23 years of direct experience as a nurse, Ms. Gordon transitioned into an educational role to share her breadth of knowledge and insight with the next generation of nurses. Successful because of he perseverance, discipline and the mentoring she received, Ms. Gordon focuses her curriculum on medical-surgical nursing, maternal and child health and pediatric care. Her experience as an emergency room nurse, medical-surgical nurse, intensive care nurse and home care nurse has allowed her to speak to the many different areas of clinical nursing that her students must be prepared for. To stay at the top of her field, Ms. Gordon is a member of the New York State Nurses Association, the National League for Nursing, the National Black Nurses Association and the Caribbean Nurses Association. In the years ahead, Ms. Gordon plans to continue teaching.
