Nestled in the bucolic Hudson Valley area of New York, the Culinary Institute of America produces some of the world’s finest chefs, bakers and pâtissiers. Aiding these students on their educational journey, Mr. Butler oversees student program coordination and event planning, manages residence halls, townhouses, and residence life and judicial affairs. Mr. Butler supervises a staff of nearly 20 resident assistants and the living quarters for approximately 600 upperclassmen. His affiliation with the Northeast Association of College and University Housing Officers allows him to continue professionally developing and refining his skills.

Mr. Butler obtained an Associate Degree in Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Management from Morrisville State College in 1999 and continued to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography and Elementary Education from the State University of New York at Oneonta in 2004. He is certified in elementary education and critical incident stress management. Mr. Butler became interested in student program coordination after serving as an undergraduate resident assistant and director. This role hatched the passion for working with students and creating an environment that fosters their learning and comfortable living during their time in higher education.
