Union City, CA, April 28, 2016, Nola Hadley Torres, History Faculty at Berkeley City College, has been recognized by Elite American Educators, for dedication, achievement and leadership in United States and Native American History.
Demonstrating more than 20 years of expertise, Dr. Torres is an experienced educator who enjoys teaching courses in history. After working as a writer and advocate for a company, she discovered the most gratifying aspect of the job was the historical aspect. From then on, Dr. Torres decided sharing her knowledge about history would better suit her interests. She maintains an active presence at Berkeley City College, on top of teaching classes, she also runs the PACE (Program for Adult College Education) program. The program began in 1989 and assists adults with continuing college education and earning degrees.
Dr. Torres earned a Ph.D. in history from Union Graduate College. She is a member of the American History Association. She has been honored on numerous occasions for her hard work in the field. She has received the Most Valued Faculty Member, the Faculty Diversity Internship Program Recognition Award, the Journey Award for Excellence in Recruitment, AIEL Award and the Chancellor’s Recognition Award. In the years to come, Dr. Torres endeavors to write history books and continue teaching future generations in American and Native American History.
